The Brevity Blog published my craft essay “Circling the Drain: The Movement from Idea to Essay” on 25 August 2025. The piece elaborates on my craft process in an extended metaphor.
“My brain is quite a big sink, it seems. Maybe more a bathtub when I start looking at all the dog-eared notebook pages that have accumulated. In some, sticky tabs jut out at odd angles with the theme scribbled on it—whether it’s a craft essay idea, a memoir title, or flash CNF notes. Movement in this vast body of water is almost imperceptible, but it is there.”
